Could be anything really, infection, injury, parasite or just born with genetic defects. Unfortunately herp vets are few and far between, most people don't like reptiles so money and resources are not spent. Sorry about your poor little guy. if you get a new one make sure to get herptivite calcium vitamin D and also the multivitamins and put these on its food. also make sure the light has uva uvb so that natural production of vitamin d and absorption of calcium is optimal. If you use the same enclosure bleach everything just in case it was a pathogen like bacteria or virus. good luck!
