If the fact that atheists always use the excuse "animals do it" a sign that are not as evovled as they think?

I agree with the question. If " because the animals do it" was a valid excuse for human behavior the jails would be empty. It's kind of like when an kid tells their mom " but all the other kids are doing it". Did that ever work?
